Delhi vendors was being sabotaged,
National Task Force for Street
Vendors was set up by the Ministry
of Urban Development and Poverty Alleviation in 2002.
Member of this
Task Force included Sewa, Manushi, Hawkers Sangram Samiti
of
Kolkatta and Bombay Hawkers
Union etc. This resulted in a
National Policy for Street Vendors
which was approved by the cabinet
in January 2004.
